Artist: BTSimply Being Loved, Force of Gravity BT first met JC three years ago when Chasez started showing up at his DJ shows. Soon the two were talking and eventually hanging out with each other's friends and girlfriends, including Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. 'They're so cool and levelheaded' - BT said. 'I know people that are extras in films that have more attitude than them'. Then he heard his new friends sing. 'I thought, 'Hang on a second. These guys may be a groomed, commercialized thing, but they are really talented,'' - BT explained. Still, he was hesitant. 'JC was saying we should do a track. I said, 'I like you guys a lot, but it's probably not right for either one of us.' I thought it would freak out everybody'. JC worked on BT's album, 'Emotional Technology'. The *NSync star sang on the track 'Force of Gravity' and also sang the chorus for 'Somnambulist'. BT also worked on JC's album 'Schizophrenic'. 'JC's got one of the best voices, I've been blessed to work with him, his voice is amazing, better than Peter Gabriel' - BT said. 'It's an honor to work with him, to see how good he is at his craft'. Only on 'Force Of Gravity' JC sings the high stuff on the chorus of the first single. BT spent 2 weeks editing 'Somnambulist'. |
Artist: Basement JaxxPlug It In Given a choice of *NSync members to guest on your album, not many artists would opt for JC Chasez over Justin Timberlake. Yet it's just the kind of odd and willful maneuver Basement Jaxx love, and what's more, on their third album, 'Kish Kash', they make it work. 'We used JC because he can sing. We've had that track for a while, but no singer took it to the next level and we were getting frustrated. We got a call from a friend who works [with 'N Sync's English label] and he said JC was in the building to meet English producers he wanted to work with on his album. He said he wanted to meet us. We chatted and 'Plug It In' happened to be on the mixing desk, so we asked if he'd fancy going in the booth and having a go at it. He was very obliging and it was fantastic' - said Simon Ratcliffe. After lending his voice to the Basement Jaxx's 'Kish Kash', the JC singer found the British dance duo happy to repay the favor. The resulting collaboration, 'Shake It', was the final addition to Chasez's 'Schizophrenic'.'It definitely has their elements to it, but it's like a balance between them and me' - the singer said recently. 'Sometimes their songs don't have a structure, and I found a structure that made sense with their sound and my melody.' |
Artist: Euge GrooveGive In To Me Euge Groove's collection, which leans toward urban and R'n'B-tinged jazz instrumentals, as well as some transcendent smooth jazz, wouldn't be complete without the kind of Urban/AC vocal tracks that have brought him success in the past. He revisits familiar territory with "Tender Hearted Lover," written and featuring vocals by John Stoddard, plus "Give In To Me," accented by the beat-driven harmonies of *NSync's JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake. Groove's longtime friend Mike Egizi, co-producer and arranger on Euge Groove, brought the *NSync song into the mix. Mike, the former musical director for the Mickey Mouse Club, had a song in the can from the early '90s featuring JC and the *NSync gang (when they were part of MMC). "We were looking for a vocal track and Mike played this for me," recalls Groove. "I said, 'This is great, let's do it' I had no idea who was singing on it." "Give In To Me" appeared on "Euge Groove" album, May 2000. |
Artist: BlaqueTitle: Bring It All To Me JC collaborated with this girl band back in 1999 when girl bands were the hottest thing around. He provided the girls of Blaque not only with his song-writing talents, but also with his amazing voice on the song "Bring It All To Me" which was released as a single. |
